Gameplay

Number guessing. The game picks a whole number inside a range, and every guess tells you whether the answer is higher or lower until you hit it. The optimal strategy is to guess the midpoint of the remaining interval each time, which halves the possibilities in one shot and minimises the number of tries.

Controls

Type a number into the field and submit it; the history list records each guess together with its too-high or too-low hint. The header shows how many attempts you have used and what range remains, and the total is reported once you guess correctly. Restart picks a new number.

FAQ

Does it remember my best result?

Yes - your record for fewest attempts is stored in the browser's local storage (key guess-best) and only updates when you win using fewer guesses. Clearing the site's data removes it.

Do invalid guesses count against me?

No - entries that are empty or outside 1-100 are rejected before the attempt counter moves. Every valid guess is kept in the history strip with an arrow telling you to aim higher or lower.
