How to play
Gameplay
Slide tiles around a 4x4 grid. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile holding their sum, and a new tile appears after every move. Your score grows with each merge. The run ends when the grid is full and no merge is possible any more. Reach the 2048 tile to win the classic goal, then keep going for a higher score.
Controls
Use the arrow keys (or W A S D) to push every tile up, down, left or right. On touch screens, swipe in the direction you want. Press the new-game button to restart at any time.
FAQ
Does it remember my best score?
Yes - your best score is stored in the browser's local storage and reappears the next time you open the page. Clearing the site's data removes it.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes - swipe in the direction you want the tiles to move. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or WASD.
